The Challenge of a Beauty Giant

COTY is an ecosystem of over 40 iconic brands split between two distinct divisions and 20 markets. The group faced a monumental logistical challenge: maintaining the distinct "DNA" of each brand while producing thousands of assets for a fragmented digital world.

They needed adapt product copies for numerous retailers—like Amazon, Sephora, and Douglas—each enforcing different text structures and SEO algorithms.

Without a centralized tool to repurpose assets, the process was fundamentally manual. Copywriting and Translations relied on a web of disconnected emails and Excel spreadsheets, creating severe bottlenecks. This made it nearly impossible to keep up with the high volume of content and inflating costs...

End-to-End Semantic Orchestration

To break these silos, they implemented Wezen as its centralized "Content Factory." The project was designed to connect Global Marketing, Local Markets, and the technical stack into one seamless lifecycle.

1. Native Salsify PIM Integration

We eliminated the risk of manual data entry by building an active connector between Wezen and the Salsify PIM. Content now flows automatically from the PIM into the Wezen workflow for processing. Once validated, the localized assets are automatically pushed back into Salsify, ready for immediate syndication. This ensures that the PIM remains the single source of truth without requiring human file transfers.

2. Orchestrated AI x Human Loop

We deployed a hybrid production model tailored to COTY’s specific "Beauty" and "Luxury" standards.

  • Wezen Write: Specialized AI agents generate SEO-optimized "V1" copies based on strict brand guidelines and product briefs.
  • Wezen Translate: Neural models provide a high-quality linguistic foundation for adaptation.
  • Expert Post-Editing: To guarantee emotional resonance, native expert linguists perform a mandatory post-edition on all AI output. This step is non-negotiable for Luxury brands, ensuring the machine's speed never compromises the brand's prestige.

3. "Unique Copies" for Retailers

One of the most complex challenges was satisfying the algorithms of top-tier retailers. Wezen facilitates the automatic creation of "Unique Copies" for platforms like Amazon and Sephora. The system ensures a 30% differentiation between the master copy and retailer-specific versions. This prevents duplicate content penalties and boosts organic ranking on each specific marketplace without requiring teams to rewrite descriptions from scratch manually.

4. Operational Governance

The project is not just software; it is a governance model. A dedicated Global Business Partner and Global Delivery Manager act as single points of contact. The platform utilizes a shared Termbase and Translation Memory to ensure that approved naming conventions are respected globally. Workflows are customized per retailer, triggering automatic notifications to specific stakeholders only when validation is required, cutting out the "noise" of unnecessary emails.
